The soul of our city is Downtown.
Local flavors + familiar faces.
It's a small town community filled with families, college students, business professionals, and empty nesters, where you can encounter someone you know on every corner. Whether you're hanging out at your favorite restaurant patio to greet your city council representative or walking from the Farmers Market to the local coffee shop on a crisp Saturday morning, the people are what make Downtown the heart of our city.
Community + culture abound.
It’s seeing murals filling the streets and viewing local art in gallery spaces or seeing a performance of your favorite show on the weekend. There’s a little something for everyone, whether it’s finding that record you’ve been looking for or buying a treasure at one of our local shops.
Doing life with your friends + neighbors.
It’s spending your night off bowling at the local brewery, getting drinks with friends or stopping by the local plant store to snap a cute photo or purchase some live decor for your home. You can find all the essentials, with a local gym, grocery store and pharmacy all within a few blocks.

Features
Downtown Jackson has been filled with our community spending time together—making memories, shopping local, and celebrating the holidays in the heart of our city. Photographer Mirza Babic takes us along through his lens as he attends the Christmas Parade and then winds down with a drink at Room 208. His photos capture the simple joy of a downtown holiday evening and remind us that there are so many ways to experience this season here. Whether that’s showing up for a community event, gathering friends for a meaningful dinner, or picking up the perfect stocking stuffers from local businesses. This year, downtown has truly been a special place to be, and Mirza’s perspective reflects the warmth, connection, and togetherness that make the season feel like home.
